Giving time as a volunteer is a tremendous way of showing solidarity, finding out more, and making friends.
There are lots of places you can volunteer – and sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin.
Leeds City of Sanctuary host regular meetings for people who want to volunteer with asylum seekers and refugees.
These informal sessions are an opportunity to find out about which asylum and refugee organisations in Leeds are looking for volunteers. The aim is to help people to work out where they can do the most good.
“Come along and gather information and ask questions – no pressure to sign up to anything! We’d just love to meet you and share what we know. Find out more by clicking on this link”
The meetings are held at Oak House, Park Lane, Leeds LS3 1EL (the car park is just off Hanover Lane) and are usually held once a month on a Monday Evening.
