HALT Domestic Violence (Help, Advice and the Law Team) offers information,advice,advocacy and support to women who have experienced violence from a man they know. We support women through the court system and/or explore legal options.

We operate in Leeds and take referrals from women themselves, and any other organisation ie the Police, Probation, Social Services, hostels and voluntary groups.

We provide many services, each of which can be accessed through the links on the left-hand side, as well as working within the legal system to work for change and to promote women’s voices.

HALT staff are paid and legally trained and work in a supportive way with women. We do not employ volunteers due to the level of legal and technical knowledge required in the job.
